A Little About Napali

Napili is a small beachfront community on the western coast of Maui near the towns of Honokowai and Lahaina. The census designated place of Napili-Honokowai encompasses the smaller enclave of Napili, and both are included in the larger town of Lahaina. Napili-Honokowai covers a total of nearly seven square miles, including about a square mile of standing surface water. Napili is a diverse community in terms of both racial makeup and socioeconomic demographics, although the town overall is relatively well off. Napili is located in the midst of a resort region along the western coast of Maui, and most of the permanent residents of the area reside in condominiums or single family homes. Some nearby neighborhoods, such as Napilihau and Hui Road, serve as bedroom communities for the considerable number of people employed by the hospitality industry. One of the best known condominium resorts in Napili is the Napili Surf Beach Resort, which is found along the beachfront of beautiful Napili Bay.

The amenities of the Napili Surf Beach Resort are quite impressive, including barbeques, gardens, swimming pools, and spectacular views. Napili is situated just up the road from the resort community of Kapalua, which is internationally known for its outstanding golf courses. Another notable condominium complex in the Napili area is the Napili Point Resort, which offers views of the islands of Molokai and Lanai as well as great surfing in Honokeana Bay. Napili is situated just a few minutes away from the historic whaling town of Lahaina, which boasts extensive shopping opportunities as well as great dining spots. Some of the recreational high points of the Napili area include whale watching in the winter, water sports, and scenic driving along the coast.
