The community is situated on a relatively narrow ridge immediately next to Aina Haina. Hawaii Loa Ridge is situated in eastern Oahu, close to other upscale communities such as Kahala, Hawaii Kai, and Niu Valley. Overall, there are about five hundred single family homes on Hawaii Loa Ridge, all of which are priced well out of most investors’ price range. However, Hawaii Loa Ridge homes are both beautiful and picturesque for those who are lucky enough to be able to afford them. The average price of a Hawaii Loa Ridge single family home is nearly three and a half million dollars. Hawaii Loa Ridge properties are among the most expensive on Oahu because of their extremely high square footage, large lots, and location. There are currently about sixteen properties for sale on Hawaii Loa Ridge, ranging in price as high as ten million dollars. Hawaii Loa Ridge has grown significantly over the last thirty years, and does not have much potential to expand further, ensuring the maintenance of the community’s character. Hawaii Loa Ridge is able to maintain its exclusivity partially because of its homeowner’s association, which commands association fees ranging from about two hundred to well over six hundred dollars per month. The homeowner’s association provides a wide variety of services and recreational facilities for residents of Hawaii Loa Ridge. Some of these offerings include a posh recreation area, a private pool, and even a clubhouse. There is also a twenty four hour guard service which controls the only access points to Hawaii Loa Ridge.
One of the most beautiful and picturesque features of Hawaii Loa Ridge is the eponymous Hawaii Loa Ridge hiking trail, which is only accessible from within the gates of the community. Although it is possible for any vehicle to submit an ID card and gain access to the trail, it is substantially easier for residents to enjoy the stunning beauty of the trail. The trail takes about four hours to experience in its entirety, and offers spectacular views of both the mountains and the ocean. Hikers who are brave enough to tackle the trail can also enjoy outstanding vistas overlooking the city. Of course, the mansions on Hawaii Loa Ridge can also benefit from the elevation of the community. Nearly every one of the properties on Hawaii Loa Ridge enjoys incredible panoramas of Honolulu, the Ko’olau Mountains, and the Pacific Ocean.
The location of Hawaii Loa Ridge is nearly unparalleled, situated about half way between the towns of Hawaii Kai and Kahala. Downtown Honolulu is between ten and fifteen minutes away from Hawaii Loa Ridge, including several shopping complexes such as Ala Moana and the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center. There is an even more prestigious community located within the already highly exclusive confines of Hawaii Loa Ridge: The Pointe at Hawaii Loa, which is gated off from the rest of Hawaii Loa Ridge and offers many additional facilities and benefits to its residents. Many homes in the Pointe have even more impressive views, extending all the way from Koko Head to Molokai. Regardless of their location, many Hawaii Loa Ridge properties have land expanding over more than an acre – well over the average for other communities in the region despite considerably higher property values.
