A Little About Lanikai

Lanikai is an exclusive residential community found along the Windward Coast of Oahu. Lanikai is an unincorporated suburb of Kailua town, and is well known for having some of the most impressive beachfront properties and mansions on the Windward side. The vast majority of residences in Lanikai are single family homes, although the high price of land in the area makes even modest homes rather expensive. More lavish mansions and those located along the coast itself are commonly priced in the millions of dollars and include amenities such as guest houses, swimming pools, and skylights. Lanikai is located just up the street from Kailua Beach Park, which is considered one of the best beaches on the island and in the state. The community is also situated less than five minutes from downtown Kailua, which offers a wide range of stores, restaurants, and recreational facilities. In fact, one of the best known local hotspots in Kailua, Lanikai Juice, takes its name from the upscale residential suburb.
    
Lanikai itself has very few commercial properties, and has earned a reputation as an exclusive, quiet community with beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and the offshore islands of Na Mokulua. The primary attraction of Lanikai is Lanikai Beach, a half mile stretch of pristine white sand with a number of public access points. Lanikai Beach consistently wins high marks among sun bathers, swimmers, and body boarders, and is a great place to enjoy the wonderful weather of the islands. Lanikai Beach, with its striking backdrop of twin offshore islets and blue water, is popular among photographers and sightseers, who frequent the area during tourist season. Despite its scenic beauty and remarkably calm waters, Lanikai (which translates to “heavenly sea”) is still only a half hour from the offerings of downtown Honolulu.
