How to add a site to the Hawaii Search Directory

Hawaii Search is a web directory of Internet resources related directly to Hawaii. The directory is arranged by subject starting from very general to very specific. Our Directory is maintained by a small group of very dedicated editors who evaluate each and every site for inclusion in the directory.

Our goal is to provide a reviewed directory of every single Hawaiian site that is of quality. We also feel that the title and description should be of sufficient length to insure that it will be a good representation of what a site has to offer. We are a combination search engine and directory and strive to present the best of both. Not every single site is accepted, so please don't take it personally should your site not be accepted.

Step One

Do a quick search in the directory at Hawaii-Search.com to verify that your site isn't already listed. We have a team of editors that spend a great deal of time searching the Internet for quality sites. You may find that your site is already listed.

Step Two

Determine whether your site fits our guidelines for being included in the Hawaii Search Directory:

Your site must deal with a Hawaiian Island to be considered.
We are a family orientated Directory and Search Engine and as such have a strong policy against sites
that deal with adult content, violence, or promotes illegal activities.
Your site must not promote infringing on or advocating violating someone's rights.
Your site must be complete with no "Under Construction" notices and all links and graphics should be working.
Do not submit a site with an address that redirects to another address or site.
Do not submit a site that contains the same or similar content as to another site you may already have listed in the directory.
Don't submit sites consisting largely of links without some quality substance.

Step Three

Identify and submit your site to the most relevant and best category. Sites submitted for review to obvious or totally unrelated categories run the risk of being totally rejected.

Step Four

Once you've settled on and selected the most relevant and best category for your site, go to that category on Hawaii-Search.com and then click "add a Listing" . Please fill out all the information completely on the submission form . Descriptions and titles of sites should fully describe the content of the site accurately and completely without resorting to a sales presentation. While your title and description might be edited, the purpose will be to include information that is on your site and was not included in the information provided.

Procedure After Your Site is Submitted

One of our professional editors will review your site submission, do a comparative analysis between the information you provided and what is found on the site to determine whether to include it in our directory. Once your review has been finalized the editor will contact you by email with his decision.

Updating Your Site Information

Once your site submission has been accepted and placed in our directory if you would like any changes to your listing just send us an email with the desired changes and we will be more than happy to get that taken care of for you..

Providing a link back to us is now a requirement for being listed in the directory, and it would really be appreciated. The more sites that exchange links with us, the more popular we both become with the Search Engines and the more targeted traffic we can send your way.
